![]() A Doggie Yoga Pose Grass in a parking lot? Yup. I thought it was a little weird, but the dogs loved it. You could see it in their faces when they entered through the gate at the PETCO Natural Neighborhood Festival in Santa Monica, CA. “Concrete, concrete, concrete, concrete, concrete, concr… whoa… GRASS!!! Woo Hoo! ” Check out all the pictures below. Featured at the event were information stations for dog nutrition, dog training, and grooming; an adoption booth and doggie activity/obstacle course from the Heigl Foundation; a doggie massage station; partner booths from PETCO natural food vendors Solid Gold, Wellness, Natural Balance, Blue Buffalo, and Halo; talks from Dr. Marty Becker and Tracy Hotchner, skateboarding antics from Tillman and Friends; and (my favorite part) doggie yoga with Amy Stevens. You’ll have to believe me when I say Continue reading » A friend of mine recently adopted a lab from an elderly neighbor. Knowing I work for PETCO, she called to ask what her new dog “Mollie” needed. We met at PETCO to go shopping with Mollie. As we walked throught the store, I realized she had put more thought into toys and beds and never considered what food to feed Mollie. She mistakenly thought most foods were about the same. I corrected her and said that feeding the right food could help Mollie live a longer, healthier life and potentially prevent common health issues. I asked a few basic questions like how old Mollie was and ![]() A lab like Mollie if she had any problems. Apparently Mollie scratches her ears and chews her paws a lot. I ran my fingers through her coat- it looked dull and dry. I asked what Mollie had been eating, her neighbor had been giving Mollie a low quality store brand food from one of those big discount Marts. No wonder Mollie’s coat was so bad!
