Yesterday I shared the great news on the Scoop that I get the distinct pleasure of being a participant on Natural Balance’s Guinness Book World Record Breaking float at the Rose Parade this Friday:
We’re bringing the experience live to all of you through our blog, twitter, and facebook and giving away [...]
There are moments I will fondly remember in my career– First pay check, first raise, first uncomfortable work moment due to sheer proximity of seating on a plane, forcedly bonding with co-workers during a 16 hour flight (you can only ask so many questions about people’s children!) and then there’s having my wallet stolen in a [...]
Some dogs sure do have all the luck. Children, families, woman, men and other dogs all love Tillman. Here’s this week’s comic. Enjoy!
If you’ve had the pleasure to meet Tillman, you’ll notice his tremendous energy! Running, excited and always wanting to get on that skateboard! Good thing he has great control on his skateboard or it could be a disaster! Luckily he didn’t hit the Alamo.
Enjoy!

I get to do a lot of really cool things working at PETCO. I mean, Chihuahua races? Writing about heartwarming animal stories? Pet-sitting at the office? C’mon, it really doesn’t get much better. But, last week, I got to do one of the coolest things I’ve done yet. I spent a morning with Dick Van Patten. At his house. Just hanging out and listening to his stories.
 Me and Dick Van Patten.
Most people know Dick — or Dickie, as I noticed lots of people call him — as the 1970s TV dad from Eight is Enough – or, I don’t know, maybe from his hundreds of other roles and appearances in American television, film and theater over the last 75 years (NBD, right?). And, if you’re a PETCO shopper, you also know him (or, perhaps, only know him) as the face of Natural Balance pet food.
Side note: To be totally honest, Continue reading »
Howdy Folks! Are you ready for this week’s comic from the Chronicles of Tillman? I sure am. Moving here from Texas, I can contest to the pride Texans take in their great state and the Alamo! Happy Tillman was able to make the trip to the Lone Star state and get some boarding in [...]
Today, I have the great pleasure to share the very first of several Tillman comic strips you’ll see weekly on the PETCO Scoop, courtesy of our friends at Natural Balance and Jones TV.
Who is Tillman, you ask? The amazing skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding bulldog, of course! The Hollywood rumor mill indicates that Tillman is super excited about [...]
 Magic? Maybe.
The following story comes from Steve Clark, a Natural Balance Demo Representative.
When I started working as a demo representative for Natural Balance Pet Foods, I could not imagine the range of stories I would hear on a daily basis from countless customers as they stopped by my table. As I handed out our samples and information, customers shared their pet stories, most of the time with the “stars” of these stories right beside them. There were times, however, that the stars were no longer beside their parent, which made those stories the most heartfelt and memorable. In my line of work, it was amazing to speak one on one with the loving and dedicated pet parents of these special angels. Most people think a demo representative has an easy job, just stand in a store and hand out samples and product information. But to some customers it’s more than that, to some it makes a difference and in rare occasions, it changes their lives. One such story has Continue reading »
A Dog Days pup trying to get ballpark food from it's owner
Tuesday night was officially for the dogs at PETCO Park. Our annual Dog Days of Summer event brought out pet parents and their beloved dogs for the Padres win over the Cubs. This once a year event at PETCO Park is definitely one of my personal favorites. As a dog lover, Continue reading »
Tillman and his pet parent, Ron Davis, with the Guinness World Records award for the world’s fastest skateboarding dog on July 30th, 2009.
It’s hard for me to believe that a bulldog can do so much in one day. But Tillman is no ordinary bulldog. He became the official “spokes-dog” for Natural Balance during the 2009 Tournament of Roses ® Parade, where he skateboarded along the 52-foot track on the Natural Balance float. Because of his increased popularity, Tillman makes appearances at special events across the country.
Tillman was invited to this year’s X Games 15, where he was awarded Continue reading »
