Nature’s Variety voluntarily recalls Prairie Beef Meal Barley Medley Kibble

A voluntary recall has been issued for Nature's Variety Prairie Beef Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs

Petco was informed today that Nature’s Variety has initiated a voluntary recall of its Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs due to an off-odor smell that may develop over time. All Petco stores have been directed to immediately pull affected product from our shelves; we have programmed our registers to block the sale of these products in our stores and we are removing the products from petco.com.

The product is not contaminated in any way, but some products are not remaining fresh for the shelf life of the product.

The Petco products affected by this voluntary recall are:

UPC#7 69949 60420 4 – Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs 5 lb

UPC #7 69949 60425 9 – Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs 15 lb

UPC#7 69949 60430 3 – Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley Kibble for Dogs 30 lb

The recall also includes a 3 oz. sample size bag of the Prairie Beef Meal & Barley Medley UPC #7 69949 60432 7, which was not carried at Petco. No other Nature’s Variety products are affected.

If you have purchased one of the above products from Petco, you may bring the original packaging or proof of purchase to your local store for a full refund or you may exchange it for a different product.

We recommend customers try an alternative Nature’s Variety protein, such as Prairie Chicken or Lamb.

Remember, all Nature’s Variety products are formulated for rotation feeding, so moving from one protein to another does not require a transition time.

Thank you so very much for being so forthcoming in your recall. The truth is so very much appreciated!!! Unlike other Mfgs. right now that are under the scrutiny of the FDA for importing dog treats made in China that are sicking and killing our furbabies…

that’s a very responsible manufacturer. but dont think we have this brand in singapore. I do agree with Debbie. Never ever import anything edible from China. There’s a high chance that you or your loved ones be dead the following morning..
