PETCO Park in sunny San Diego
Last Sunday marked one of the last Adoption Sunday events this season at PETCO Park! During each Sunday home game, PETCO partners with a local rescue group to promote pet adoption and showcase some furry friends available for adoption. This past Sunday was no exception.
While the Padres had a great win over the Rockies (Go Padres!) and Tony Gwynn Jr.’s latest at bat song managed to get stuck in my head… our friends from Rancho Coastal Humane Society were sharing some adoption puppy luv with Padres (and Rockies) fans. Lucy, the boxer mix sweetheart, and Paprika, the very social terrier mix, were both on hand to give doggy kisses and entertain the fans who stopped by to say hi. Those whose hearts were stolen by these loving dogs and were interested in learning more about adopting Paprika and Lucy were able to contact RCHS for more info. As of this morning, I learned that both Lucy and Paprika found new homes! Whoo hoo! I know those sweet pups will make a great addition to their new pet parents lives.

Paprika and Lucy both found new homes!
Be sure to stop by for the last Adoption Sunday of the 2009 Padres season on Sunday 10/4 when the Padres take on the Giants. We’ll be joined by our friends from Helen Woodward Animal Center.
I encourage everyone to Think Adoption First when looking for a new pet! To learn more about the great things Rancho Coastal Humane Society is doing for animals, check out their website at www.rchumanesociety.org.

I am so sad, I was about to call and see if Paprika was still available…
