On Your Barks, Get Set… Practice!

If you and your dog are planning to participate in PETCO’s upcoming National Chihuahua Races, we’ve put together a quick video to show you how to practice and get your pint-sized pups up to speed for race day!

We had a few PETCO associates and their tiny speedsters demonstrate some individual and group practice races. Don’t miss the last one where all three pups run together – it’s sure to get a laugh and give you a taste of the real deal.

When you’re ready to practice with your pup, go to petco.com/races to register for the race near you and print this handy training tips sheet, complete with tear-out start and finish lines to set up your practice track at home.

On your barks, get set… practice!

Lol, more like a game of chase. They need to do some restrained recalls and run away with a tug toy dragging or a treat filled tug toy, not crouch down….that isn’t too exciting for a dog to run to.

Lisa, Too funny and what a great job you have.
At least the Chihuahua races will be easier than herding cats. Good luck with the races.

  • We’re a pair of Jack Russell Terriers who review any movies, tv, or webvideos about DOGS. We couldn’t help noticing this one, and the fact that NATIONAL CHIHUAHUA RACES even exist!

But we love it. We were glued to the screen watching those little guys go. Very compelling TV for our eyes…

Keep it up… we’ll keep watching! We’ll probably review it anyway.
